Our Story

I have always been an ardent beach girl in my small tourist town, where everyone is proud of our beautiful home.

I’m passionate about creating my own clothes by thrifting and flipping, turning old, used items into something fresh and unique. Now, I have created a bikini brand to represent my hometown of Laguna Beach, California.

I am also part of Forever Free, an organization in which we advocate against human trafficking and other forms of labor exploitation within the fast fashion industry. When I had the chance to do a “passion project” in class on a topic of my choice, I presented a slideshow on labor exploitation and the environmental costs of cheap clothing. Through many weeks of research, I found impactful (and disturbing) statistics, pictures, and stories that I included to help my peers feel the true impact of the choices they make as consumers.

Following this project, I worked to earn the Civic Seal of Engagement, emailing California Senator Tony Strickland. In my letter, I introduced myself, talked a little about the issue of fast fashion, and asked him to help find better ways to regulate factory policies based on my knowledge of California’s current laws.

I did end up receiving the Seal, but the true reward was the process of igniting change, which I will continue to do through my own business practices.

The culmination of my passions is Laguna Sol, a locally-owned bikini line concept inspired by my home town. I wanted it to feel beachy and laid-back, while also having that unique Laguna feel.

Laguna Sol is still evolving, and the exciting thing about that is there’s always room for new ideas.

With Love,
Savannah Farris
